Maryville and Northwest Missouri State University modify agreement

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The city of Maryville and Northwest Missouri State University will continue to work together when it comes to law enforcement.

At Maryville's City Council Monday night, the council unanimously voted to update their mutual aid agreement with the university. City Manager Greg McDanel said this agreement was first approved with the university in 2014.

"To essentially give university police traffic and parking enforcement abilities, not only on campus, but in areas immediately adjacent to campus as part of a partnership effort," said McDanel.

McDanel said the agreement was updated to include some additional language on sexual misconduct reporting.
